Alex Tanguay For Michael Ryder?

Rumours are flying that the Montreal Canadiens are looking at Alex Tanguay of the Calgary Flames in exchange for Michael Ryder as the Habs look to strengthen their team and the Flames look to cut down their salaries to free up room to sign superstars like Pheneuf. Ryder has obviously been an underacheiver this season and, while I love having a talented Newfoundlander on the team, it may be the best move for everyone concerned.

I hope that they trade Tanguay for Ryder, the Canadiens will have a chance of winning the stanley cup

No way would Calgary give up one of their best players: Tanguay for struggling Ryder it would be an insane move by Sutter. If Calgary is to give up Tanguay they should at least get the Kostitsyn brothers in return

Well, Calgary is looking to free up some cap space, not acquire another superstar - they just want the cash to resign guys like Pheneuf. The Ryder deal would be perfect for them - he’s low salary, a decent player and they can get rid of him in the postseason.

Got something to say?
